The best photographers of all time? Surely there can be no definitive list! We’re not afraid of courting controversy here at Digital Camera World. OK, maybe we are a little bit, which is why we thought it was time to be bold for once! Over the years we’ve interviewed a number of famous photographers and been inspired by each of them, but one thing we often hear from readers, social media followers and others is… “who are the best photographers of all time?”

It’s a good question! We put on our thinking caps and took a stab it. From Digital Camera World

Bill Gekas Photographer

You may have seen some of the portraits Bill Gekas makes of his daughter, if not I am sure you will be entertained by those here and I recommend you visit his site because there are many more to enjoy.

Born and residing in Melbourne Australia, Bill Gekas is a multi awarded and published fine art portrait photographer. Self taught and by learning the intricacies of photography since the mid 90’s, his admiration and respect for the works by the old master painters has influenced his stylistic approach to the craft.  Practicing the art of photography and constantly refining his style.

Here is a description of the work on Lightstalking

Artists around the world have long been inspired by the works of Old Masters like Rembrandt, Raphael and Vermeer. Emulating their style has never been easy, especially in photography. When Australian photographer Bill Gekas wanted to recreate the style through his photographs, he chose to feature his five-year-old daughter as the subject.

These images of his daughter, named Athena, take you a couple of centuries back in time. Careful planning goes into each photograph with utmost attention to the details like costume, props, and the lighting so as to remain faithful to the style and the era. Bill deserves appreciation not just for the idea and its flawless execution but also for the excellent post processing work that creates magical artwork. Athena deserves as much appreciation for being an adorable subject who poses beautifully in each of the images.
